I think Sisko and especially Dax rubbed off on her a lot, plus the loss of Opaka and everything she went through with Wynn, mellowed her a lot by the end of ds9. She’d still back Michael if it was the right move, but by the end of ds9, she had the experience of knowing how to do things smartly, rather than just in fighting.
