You had a ticket to ride, not a pass to harass.
Ontario Court Judge Gerald Lapkin, delivering a 1-year prison sentence to known racist hatemonger Eric Brazau for boarding a Toronto subway and spewing anti-Islamic hate speech. Brazau had previously served 9 months after handing out anti-Islamic pamphlets referring to Muslims as “breeding terrorists” (also on the subway); his second conviction violates the terms of his probation, thus the longer sentence. Basically, he boarded a train and harassed other passengers (he is said to have yelled “I hate Muslims!” while three young women wearing hijab tried to avoid him) to the point that someone hit the emergency alarm, leading to a 30-minute delay during which Brazau refused to leave the train until he was arrested. And apparently his sentence was handed down by Dolemite.
