I think you’re 100% right, sir. He probably cracks up about it while getting drunk on expensive Craig! I saw an interview with Mark Sheppard where he said that “moose” is his favorite nickname for Sam and then all of the sudden they started calling Dean squirrel. So Mark is probably the true fan here tbh
