I love the fact that the first time you see her she’s wearing these frumpy jeans and a baggy hoody top. It mirrors her life. She hasn’t decided who she is yet. She’s awkward and uncomfortable. Towards the end, as she gets stronger and bolder, the clothes change. Everything on that show is done for a reason. I wasn’t wearing a red top at the end of the series simply because that was all we had in the cupboard. I’m wearing a red top because Rose could carry a red top. That red top was a sign that Rose could do thing on her own now. She was empowered. She was in love. She could face dilemmas and do the right thing. She could love unconditionally but could also stand on her own two feet. The color red suggests all of those things. However painful the separation from The Doctor was going to be, she would survive and be better for her time with him.
