Who will play Newt in Alien V?
In a recent interview, director Neill Blomkamp strongly hinted that he will partially retcon the franchise storyline. In the new timeline, Weyland-Yutani manipulated the events of Alien³ (the penal colony) as a way to observe a xenomorph in action and Ripley received false information. Corporal Hicks (Michael Biehn) and Rebecca “Newt” Jorden are still alive and will return in the new movie. Newt was originally interpreted by Carrie Henn (born in 1976), who never played an other role. At this time, it’s not known how old the character will be in the film (cryogenics and space travel can change her timeline). According to some rumors Yvonne Strahovski, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Maisie Williams are on the top list for the role. (Source)
