Suspiria

Good movie, very atmospheric. It shares certain visual qualities with susbequent films like The Shining and The Grand Budapest Hotel (Suspiria primarily takes place at a prestigious dance academy in Rome). For the Criterion version (which I think is the one I watched) the colours are vibrant indeed, lighting is a central aspect in this movie, it covers moods.

Then there’s the music which is creepy, filled occasionally with disembodied screams and totally self aware.

In fact, I’m not entirely convinced this film isn’t a parody of horror. But I liked it.

*edit* It should be noted that this movie’s main cast is comprised entirely of women too, for a 70s horror flick (albeit foreign) that’s amazing
