In the first few seasons of SGA the writers sort of paint the image that Sheppard is some sort of womanizer. The girls love him, are attracted to him and throw themselves at him. Hell, even Rodney refers to him as Kirk. But not ONCE is Sheppard ever a chauvinist or a misogynist or disrespectful to any of them.
Before he was married, sure, he might have slept with a fair few women. But I bet he always got consent first and kept checking with them to see if it was still okay for them to be doing whatever it is they were doing. If there were any second thoughts or a call to stop things, you know he’d respect that and would never resent them for it.
Any one night stands would end with enormous respect - he would probably even call them a cab so they could get home safely without having to walk or bother a friend to come and pick them up or even offer to drive them home himself. And he probably never bragged about his “conquests” with his friends, either. Why would he? Women aren’t objects. It’s none of their business and we know how self contained he can be.
You can guarantee if a drunk girl (or guy) ever hit on him or made advances, he would discourage them rather than take advantage, find their friends so they could be taken care of and that would be that.
And you can bet that’s why he found everything about Lucius so morally repugnant. Because there was never any coercion or foul play or sense of taking away or influencing another person’s agency with John but that was Lucius’ play through and through and he was disgusted.
