Nothing ever changed in Administration. That was something Phil Coulson could count on. Regardless of what happened outside his cubicle walls, there would always be papers to file, forms to stamp, and packets to staple. It was a dull, monotonous job, and not one Phil particularly enjoyed.
But the alternative wasn’t acceptable. It wasn’t possible. So he stayed hidden away.
And in that sense, he liked his position well enough. No one bothered him, no one interfered, no one called him that awful, awful name. He was alone.
At least, he thought he was.
