I’ve spent the better part of three hours trying to put two keys back into this keyboard. One of the keys was acting out so I popped it out, the plastic contraption behind it was misaligned. I popped that out to put it back together. putting that back it has proved impossible, I popped another key to try and see what I was doing wrong but I couldn’t see anything off. now that’s popped too and I can’t get it back in (those youtube videos talk of stretching it and I can’t seem to do that any more pressure and those bits will break.

SO that’s the story of how I’m buying a replacement keyboard for my laptop which will apparently take a MONTH to ship (amazon.ca is shipping it from a seller in NY, and the prices are ridiculous if I try to ship directly from the states). And this is not covered by my warranty and even if it was it would have to go back to the manufacturer again and I know how long that takes. plus side it’s only the down and left key so I can still use the num pad. And removal and installation of a laptop keyboard is actually easy. easier than what I’m trying to do (and well within my skillset.

URGH I’m off to bed this has taken too much of my day.
