The Dark is actually produced by Dick Clark (yes that Dick Clark - I checked) and stars William Devane and Casey Kasem, was initially directed by Tobe Hooper (Poltergeist, Lifeforce, Salem’s Lot). But it’s distributed by Film Venture International (of many MST3K episodes) and apparently started out as a zombie movie till much of the footage was replaced.
