There’s definitely a bit of Majel’s real feelings seeping through to give her an honest performance in this episode as she talks about being alone. It’s only been months at this point since Gene Roddenberry’s life. And although I think they were separated he was still a major part of her life (and later would retake the Roddenberry name)
