The Vespa 150 TAP
Called the “Bazooka Vespa”, the Vespa 150 TAP was a French attempt in 1956 to give added heavy firepower to the paratrooper. Essentially the Bazooka Vespa was a regular Vespa 146 cc scooper with an American M20 75mm recoilless rifle mounted upon it. The Vespa 150 was paradropped in pairs, one carrying the gun, the other carrying ammunition. The gun was never intended to be fired from the scooper, rather the gun was to be removed from the scooter and fired from a tripod which was also carried by the scooter. 500 Vespa 150 TAP scooters were produced, most of which were used during the First Indochina War.
