Check back with me in five years and I’m still not going to be over:
– Gary thinking of this in general
– The Monarch seamlessly falling into line with it like yeah tango no problem
– Sheila’s “o3o,,,,,,,,,,, um…” face as she watches them
– The little bit of the Monarch’s face you can seen in the second frame there; is it just my shipping goggles acting up or does he look kind of stunned?
– GARY DIPPING THE MONARCH
– GARY’S SERIOUS EXPRESSIONS AT THE END
…………This scene’s gonna be the tiebreaker isn’t it. I’m going to have to dethrone Tears of a Sea Cow over nerds in bath robes and a d20 shirt doing the tango, aren’t I.
If I may sharpen the focus on those prescription shipper goggles you’ve got on…
I love how the Monarch never once goes, “Next time, let me lead… dick.” Just all, “Oh, 21 is leading. Mildly shocked, but this is fine. Let’s go with this.” Which, old Monarch so would not have done, even to save face in front of his wife. He would have totally darted someone after she walked out.
I feel this is character growth. I still don’t ship it, but I find this, like, kitten-level adorable.
I HAD smiled at 21 leading, but I thank you very greatly for this expanded insight I agree completely and am even happier about this. 8″>
Are we not mentioning the fact that the first thing Dr. Mrs. sees when she first walks up is the Monarch clearly just having been thrown against the bookcase, potentially by 21, before they launch into their impromptu tango
It’s the very first frame of the first gif and she is standing there when it happens, like I think she thinks she walked in on an intimate moment and then finds their tango cover up to be vaguely cute, this is my takeaway
Also, let it be known that I have become the shipping trash I have always hated, and this is my punishment for having judged in the past
-adamant chanting- ONE. OF. US… ONE. OF. US…
But yes, ALSO THAT. I mean let’s keep it going guys. I told myself I was going to need a while for the “NEW!!!!!!” to settle down but you’re increasingly convincing me that, no, no… this is just my favorite episode. I didn’t realize upon first viewing that it was going to be and then thinking of how it stacked up later I was like “oh hey I guess it IS one of the better ones” and now the more the analysis keeps going……………..
I swear I need to order like 5 more copies of this week’s shirt at this rate. I have no idea what I’d even DO with that many but I still feel like I ‘should’. :’3
I kind of hope it gets replaced like twice more this season though. xD Keep giving me more episodes even better than the one before.
Personally I want to know where the two of them learned to dance.
And why a TANGO of all things. The go to “fake dance” would be a waltz - it’s easy, the steps are simple, and there’s a certain amount of decorous distance between the partners. “Leave room for Jesus,” if you will.”
But a tango is DEFINED by how representational it is of…well, specifically sexual intimacy. You have to be really good at matching you partner’s movements, and you’re really close.
I mean…..did Gary just look at the bookcase throw and think “well, play it as it lays.”
I DEMAND ANSWERS. ANSWERS THAT CORRESPOND TO MY OT3.
That’s soooort of where I was going with “the Monarch seamlessly falling in line” point, like oh yes of COURSE they both know how to tango, OBVIOUSLY. But once again, more expanded thoughts and more feels. <3 <3 <3
