Timid Smoke  Idols of Avarice

~Fading light over the Plaza Air-Garden~

Just wanted to share a recent track from my trip-hop project Timid Smoke, for which I havent publicly released anything in about 2 years. I’ve always had somewhat of a degree of a cyberpunk vibe to the project but now with the newer material I’ll be pushing even farther in that direction. 

It’s an interesting combination to take the moody urban electronic sounds of trip-hop and blend them with a sonic collage of multi-ethnic instrumentation and sampling to create this sort of cyberpunk metropolis vibe while still perpetuating socio-political undertones throughout.
“Idols of Avarice” essentially means the gods of the greedy, so money heh.
This song basically has two sections the first half being a bit more gritty utilizing gypsy violin sampling and the second is a little dancier like you just walked through from a marketplace into a nightclub/bar zone in some collosal futurist city.
