One of the problems the ‘Star Trek’ franchise faces when setting a series prior to ‘The Original Series’ is the look of the show. You want to respect the look but go too far and risk it looking hokey or worse. Lead Motion Graphic Designer Timothy Peel addressed some of that at FanExpo in Canada. When showing off a ‘Discovery’ display panel, Peel had this to say about it’s look:
‘This is slightly blue-y. They are sort of restricting all the color schemes and they will slowly advance and become more colorful as we get closer to The Original Series, and for other reasons I can’t repeat.’
