Ultimate list of reasons why I predict it will be revealed that Lorca is from the mirror universe soon:

1. Cornwell, someone who knew Lorca intimately, said outright that he was a different person. Also he had scars she didn’t recognise which are consistent with the nature of the close combat which is required to climb the ranks in the empire.

2. Sleeping with a knife under your pillow and expecting attacks at all times is mirror universe trauma where everyone on your own ship is out to get you, not trauma from a starship battle where the danger of being attacked in your sleep isn’t really your main concern.

3. Cornwell said that he’d have to almost be a psychopath to lie on his evaluation, a brutal genius (exactly like a mirror counterpart).

4. The writers haven’t touched on this “there’s something wrong with Lorca” thing in a while which mirrors exactly how they treated the Ash = Voq plot. Bring it up at the beginning and then let it rest for ages while dropping steadily heavier hints before finally revealing it after a long dip in the narrative.

5. Lorca was shown to have previously had a very close relationship with Cornwell and yet it’s implied he tried to get her killed by pushing her into a Klingon trap so that she wouldn’t get the ship removed from his command. This seems more like the actions of a mirror universe Lorca who has never given a crap about Cornwell and just sees her as an obstacle to remove.

6. The “I need this ship to keep me sane” plot has not paid off or really been mentioned at all. Which means he was lying and he needed the ship for something else (getting back to the mirror universe).

7. He’d shown no interest in exploration and only cared about the war and then suddenly it’s revealed he cares Very Specifically about the ship’s ability to get to mirror universes.

8. When he returned to the starbase after the battle he knew Cornwell would probably have reported him by then and he would have his command removed. He needed to use the ship Right Now to get back to his universe or he wouldn’t have the opportunity for much longer.

9. He very clearly emotionally manipulated Stamets into doing the jump and there was a Lorca Override thing in red on the screen when they showed the data from the failed jump.

10. We found out that in the mirror universe he was hunted by Michael so it makes sense that he would purposely hijack Michael’s transport to get her on the ship and it explains why he’s so obsessed with her.

11. Finding out that mirror Lorca attempted a coup reveals a parallel between his and Michael’s mutinies and creates a lot of neat opportunities for parallels and comparisons between them.

12. Lorca is stalling for reasons why they shouldn’t return back to their ship now they have the information to get them home.

13. It gives an additional explanation to why Lorca was a-okay with blowing up the rebel base.

14. There has already been a clear event which would be the pseudoscientific reason for the switch: Lorca’s ship exploding. This kind of event is classic Star Trek for “it created a mysterious spacetime anomoly”. Also narratively, this is already established as the point where Lorca changed as a person, so maybe we should take that more literally.

15. It makes narrative sense. The season is meant to be one long story, so why bring them to the mirror universe for multiple episodes unless there’s an important development that’s going to happen there that is essential for the main plot of the story.

16. If the real Lorca is stranded in the mirror universe this gives a clear path forwards for season two and how they’re going to solve the problem of having a captain who shouldn’t be in command of the ship and will eventually be caught. Easy, they replace him with the real Lorca.

17. And finally, Lorca’s entire character just fits perfectly into every archetype Star Trek has established about cheesy villains from the mirror universe.

Didn’t the producers at one point also say this would chart Michael’s rise to captaincy? If your captain isn’t your captain it’s a solid start

DSCspoilersDSC SpoilersIt's some good arguments for it so farmind you Ash/Voq was a lot more obvious if this is the case here it's being handled more deftly
