Don’t Give Up the Ship: Rules for the Great Age of Sail, 2nd Edition, by Dave Arneson, Gary Gygax, and Mike Carr, cover art by Don Lowry, TSR, 1975. This game was the first collaboration between Arneson and Gygax. Lowry’s company Guidon Games published the first edition in 1972. Gygax co-founded Tactical Studies Rules in 1973 and published Dungeons & Dragons in 1974, but he also reprinted several of Guidon’s historic miniatures rules under the TSR name.
