This picture was in my feed again and can I just talk two seconds about the design genius here?

The order is interesting because it already sets the amount of bargaining power each character has in relation to the Crown. Churchill as prime minister can wield a lot of influence, and the same stands for Margaret; as her sister, she is a royal member and can use her privilege in that sense. But Philip is in the last position, his influence remaining extremely limited when it comes to interfering with the Crown.

The more interesting dimension of the poster is the expression of the characters. The Queen looks straight ahead, unflinching and assured, both Churchill and Margaret are looking down, submitting (albeit reluctantly) to the power of the Crown, but Philip at the far end is not quite bowing down, his eyes still open almost in defiance, like refusing to completely surrender which is one of the main plots of season 1. Anyway, this is how design makes a picture speak.
