I’m sure I’ve talked about this before, but we all know spaceflight is extremely hazardous, and with the increase of human space exploration we shouldn’t be surprised or discouraged if more actually do die in space. It’s inevitable, but they all know what they’re signing up for, and they would be ashamed of our collective space programs if we just decided to stop reaching higher because of loss of life.

And that’s not counting the accidents on the launch pad or in the air. Wikipedia lists that total at 18 deaths, including the Apollo 1 disaster, Challenger and Columbia.
