sometimes I get an intense sense memory from childhood out of nowhere. This week it’s been toys from the previous generation, stuff your grandparents still had(n’t gotten rid of). 

Specifically I remembered a 1950s-1960s Electronic/Hobby Radio set. A Do-it-yourself kit that was very space age. A cursory google search hasn’t turned it up but I clearly remember it being a red plastic globe on three stubby legs that opened up at the middle, the top part was clear (well as clear as a 30yo toy would have been) allowing you to see the inner workings and do…tests on them? take them apart and put them back together?

I just remember being fascinated by it even if I didn’t fully understand it. Eventually it stopped working (or I put it together wrong).
