Commander Branch: Commanding Officer of Comm Station Epsilon IX. Intercepted the I.K.S. Amar’s distress call and the footage of the three Klingon ship’s encounter with an unknown space cloud (later identified as V’Ger) that destroyed (digitized) each ship. The information was transmitted to Starfleet Command as the cloud was on a direct course for Earth. It would first pass close to Epsilon IX. Hails to the cloud went unanswered and V’Ger went through Epsilon IX’s shields, and digitized the entire station and personnel.
