Season 5 of Fear the Walking Dead is definitely uneven, but still entertaining. I don’t think the time jump between the 1st and 2nd half really helped them. While the first part of the season had a clear and immediate objective if somewhat hampered by the fact that the meltdown scenario came on the heels of HBO Chernobyl, the 2nd half was much more scattershot. It feels like some of the characters got a lot less screentime. But I’ll still take this over the seemingly pointless chunk of s3 that came after Teotwawki. Matt Frewer was fun to watch bouncing around but Ginny has established herself as a more fleshed out Negan. There are definitely parallels here to the ending of S7 of TWD.

It wasn’t great but I still enjoyed it, and I’ve watched a lot worse.
