Does this aesthetic have a name?
it's kind of the tech/electrical equivalent of scientific illustrations. Perhaps technical illustrations, though I think that's reserved for blueprints?
This is Retrofuturism with a 90's aesthetic instead of the 50's/60's aesthetic that you normally see.
This is cyber retrofuturism as opposed to nuclear retrofuturism
(nobody has ever called it that before; it’s just that the inspiration seems to be drawn from the same pool as cyberpunk/of the era when internet access and cyberspace were becoming a thing)
I thought it was called "Cassette Futurism" ?
Cassette futurism is a *slightly* earlier vibe in my mind, more like the Alien films or Syd Mead stuff, though I can for sure see a clear Syd Mead influence in these illustrations.
