1980s illustrations by Patrick Nagel (1945-1984).

I remember being intrigued by these as a kid. Mystery, allure, fashion. They represent an essential part of the 1980s for me; they were everywhere, calling me from the magical world of adults.

Nagel did the cover for Duran Duran’s Rio, by the way.

I’m sure these illustrations were lurking in my subconscious somewhere when I created my profile icon. I have more to say about that actually, but later.
