Favorite things about Sisko as Captain so far:

• his infinite adaptability. it seems like he’s constantly revising his view of the world and his systems of decision-making to account for new evidence, which I admire, and which is a crucial skill for someone in his delicate position.
• he is a giant dork who enjoys making life-size replicas of ancient starships. actually, Sisko has two Special Interests, mechanical engineering and baseball, both of which he is REALLY INTENSE about. he’s like a model train enthusiast writ large, and it’s presented as refreshingly unweird.
• the multi-generational Sisko family is made of happiness and sunshine and CAN I JUST. Benjamin Sisko’s commitment to family is legitimately inspiring. I mean, he still visits his father’s restaurant back on Earth, but he’s also dedicated to creating familial bonds between his senior officers and home away from home and bluahjkfdhsdfhj. this is important when you’re out in space.
