What I want for the next season of Star Trek: Picard is a guest star role for Robert Duncan McNeill where he walks in and Seven says, “Tom?” and Picard says, “Nick?” and everyone looks at everyone, then RDM says, “I can explain ...” and then the show cuts to commercial and when it’s back from commercial, Seven says, “That makes sense,” and Picard says, “Indeed,” and then the episode continues and no one refers to the character by name again, only, “hey, you” and similar.

the best part of this is the concept of introducing an ad break into an ad-free format just to make this gag work
