‘this sheep’ his NAME is SHREK

airyairyaucontraire

Shrek was a national icon, in that special, extremely weird way we sort of specialise in, in New Zealand.  His shearing was broadcast on national television and yielded enough wool for 20 large men’s suits.  I do not know if 20 large men (or a greater number of smaller men) actually got Shrek wool suits, but I would really like to believe so.  He was later re-shorn on a floating iceberg for some reason.  I was just looking up the Wikipedia link for this comment when I discovered that hermit sheep with massive fleece are still breaking news in New Zealand.

A “successor” to Shrek was discovered a couple of days ago in Gisborne.  Her name is Gizzy Shrek and she’s spectacular.
