today i learned that “Gary” is a canonical Cardassian name

he was apparently named after the VFX coordinator and supervisor for DS9, Gary Hutzel, but like….. 

since its a cardassian first name, and we don’t hear many of the cardassian characters’ first names in the show, ANY one of them could be a Gary
