Back to Future Part III really turns the topography/geography of Hill Valley and surrounding environs into The Simpsons’ Springfield, USA. It’s whatever the story needs to be. Canyons? sure. right next to a ranch? why not. near Hill Valley? never had it before but okay. Woods too? of course!
