i made this helpful meme to illustrate that kang set up a quantum trolley problem for sylvie and loki and neither of them were wrong in their choice because there was no right choice. they were BOTH making the self-sacrifice play here: loki by sacrificing his own free will to become the guardian of the sacred timeline with sylvie, for eternity, to prevent the ultimate destruction of the universe; sylvie by marooning herself at the end of time, without the one friend she’d ever made, for the good of everyone throughout time and space.
