unclemattr asked:

The the whole John DiMaggio/Futurama thing has me in a bind. While I know it’s not the writer’s fault about the collapse and that they will continue to churn out episodes that will certainly entertain, the loss of the man seems insurmountable. I don’t think he should take a pay cut and “do it for the fans”. But it won’t quite be the same show without him.

Advice?

wilwheaton answered:

Futurama doesn’t exist without Bender. Bender doesn’t exist without John DiMaggio. He deserves to be paid in a way that reflects his contributions to the show. He doesn’t owe the fans anything. The fans owe him our unwavering support and gratitude.

John’s made it very clear - he doesn’t simply think he deserves more money - he thinks the entire cast does.  They ALL got low-balled, and he’s the only one who’s pushed back.
