Back again analyzing The Kiss™️ scene because my brain refuses to stop thinking about the hands and this particular moment:

The way Ed's right hand caresses Stede's shoulder and then pushes at it:

But also Ed moving his left hand fast at first to touch Stede right under the neck but when he's nearly there he slows it and he then so gently puts it there:

It's the hands for me indeed.
