I like how within the central friend group of Stranger Things you have people whose “how we became best friends” stories range from “I was alone on the first day of kindergarten and so was he so I asked him to be friends and he said yes” and “she asked me for advice about boy problems and we went shopping” through to “the juvenile demon dog I was raising in a terrarium broke out and ate my cat and he was the only person I could find who wouldn’t need extensive briefing to be able to help me.”
