I absolutely love how Guinan never shuts anyone down. Like, she says people have to figure out their first love affairs for themselves, Data says “I am not capable of love”, and she just replies “then it’s going to be a very unique experience. She doesn’t contradict him and say yes you are, and nor does she dismiss him and tell him to stop thinking about it then. She just says this’ll be unique. What an encouragement that is. You’re different, and neither of us knows what a relationship would look like for you, but that makes the prospect more exciting, not less. What a woman.
