the craaaziest thing about hannibal to me is how gentle he is. this dude kills and eats other human beings and yet when he apologizes for miriam lass's death or grieves abigail or holds will during an episode HE caused i never get the feeling that he's being insincere. its genuinely mournful on some level, even among the layers of manipulation and violence. when he strangles someone it's like an embrace. and you'd think that would make his capacity for incredible violence so much more pronounced but mutilating someone actually just kind of seems like a natural extension of that grace. im obsessed with him
