I’m now 95% sure that the location where Mike nearly gets ambushed outside his girlfriend’s apartment in V is Hyperion Hotel in Angel. Initially I just had the same vibes and I didn’t have good caps from V (and don’t have angel caps are from the buffyverse wiki) but I looked up both buildings, and while imdb doesn’t list the filming location for this scene in V, the exterior shots for the Hyperion were at 4121 Wilshire. Looked it up on google maps to get a better view (it’s still standing).

The design element of the grates and bars on the windows match as does the faux-column wall relief.

So pretty Mike’s Gilfriend lives in the spooky haunted hotel and home of Angel Investigations ….
