So, I got to see Nana Visitor at FedCon today, which was really cool.  And she was asked about if she ever disagreed with what the writers did with her character

Apparently they were going to have Kira and Dukat have an affair, but Nana Visitor fought and fought and argued relentlessly that Kira would never have an affair with him, until they relented (but they did have Kira’s mother taken by Dukat instead)

The thing is - As I Recall - they also asked Marc Alaimo about it and he was all for it. I think in his (or possibly both) case it was a case of the character inhabiting the actor…
