1. Using Ultravox, a nod to the period but a nod too to Ashes to Ashes (it’s the song used when Alex first wakes up in 1981). It’s not the first time Who and Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes using the same song either. Britney’s Spears Toxic, heard on the End of the World episode as a song of old Earth was also the song they used on Sam as a form audio stimuli (where he briefly saw the Manchester of 2006. 

2. Liam Cunningham, aka Davos Seaworth on Game of Thrones as a Soviet Submarine Captain. Yep that works too. At least he isn’t trying the Scottish-Russian-Connery accent.

3. David Warner, in the first pic, was in Mad Dogs with Philip Glenister and John Simm.

4. Tobias Menzies, on the right in the second pic starred in Eternal Law, written by Life on Mars creators Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah.
