Vasquez Rocks in various Star Trek episodes and films (from top, clockwise): “Arena”, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986), “Shore Leave” and Star Trek (2009) 

Huh, I knew that this place is Star Trek’s go-to location whenever the script calls for any sort of rugged terrain but I… never realized that they’ve just been using the same rock formation every. damn. time. Who knew that Sarek’s house is just over the mountain where Kirk fought the Gorn?

Yup. I’m almost tempted to include Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey given that they’re killed from this rock after watching Arena (by their robot doubles no less)
