literally traumatizing to learn that the london bridge is in fucking arizona
....where did people think 'london bridge is falling down' came from?
i don’t necessarily conflate “falling down” with “being dismantled brick by brick and shipped to arizona to be rebuilt” but i guess its not my area of expertise

Hey Y’all, Sonne here - I’m a street medic in the city of Tucson who often works with legal observers from the local NLG chapter. This has definitely been a topic of discussion for us recently, but our lawyer friends have assured us that the actual verbiage of this bill, while it is definitely unconstitutional, says the cops now have total freedom to establish the safe distance for bystanders during any arrest. What this means is that normally, if you step back five feet, the cops can’t make a fuss about you filming. (They will anyway, but they’re not supposed to.) Now, however, they’re able to tell you that you have to be a hundred or two hundred feet away because that is ‘minimum safe distance’. If you don’t comply, you’re considered to be ‘interfering at a crime scene’. They’ve already been keeping press and cameras away from protests, ostensibly for the safety of those press members.
I just want to add some clarity because I’ve seen this all over twitter and facebook.
