Cars and Films by Jesús Prudencio

Spanish graphic designer Jesús Prudencio composes ingenious illustrations based on vintage and cult classic films. Prudencio approaches the playful illustrations with a sleek and contemporary sensibility. For the purpose of connecting the films’ identities we have included each title, although the artist never includes the name of the film to keep his audience guessing.

Taking on icons like Roman Holiday, Mr. Bean, Taxi Drive and many more, the multi-colored posters bring forth attention to the vehicles, while maintaining the spirit of each cinematic masterpiece. You can find his entire collection of clever cinematic posters, which include Breaking Bad, Grease, Scarface, The Godfather and others in his Etsy shop.

Things have come a long way from the old Land Rovers. A British Army Foxhound at Camp Bastion, Helmand, Afghanistan - June 2012. The V-shaped hull was designed specifically to counter the IED threat. Utilising advanced technologies, the nations’ pioneering motorsport industry was an unorthodox contributor to the project. In not quite pit stop time, but close, the engine can be removed and replaced within 30 minutes - and it can drive along merrily with a wheel forcibly amputated.

Phantom Corsair, 1938. Designed by Rust Heinz of the H. J. Heinz family and Maurice Schwartz of the Bohman & Schwartz coachbuilding company in Pasadena, California. The Corsair is maybe the ultimate example of retro-futurism. The Corsair was to be produced in limited numbers as the 1930s equivalent of today’s hypercars (selling for $12,000 in 1938, equal to roughly $200,000 now) but Heinz’s death in a car accident ended the project and the prototype remained a one-off
