the conceit of this ep is rockford doesn’t want to take the money he has for a client’s bond with him to a motel in a town he doesn’t know that doesn’t have a safe, and no bank. so the mechanic (his car broke down) directs him to the land office that has as safe, leaves it there and of course its gone by the morning. oh and the guy he gave it to never worked there. But he did follow the guy home just in case something happened.
