I finished BBC’s survivors last night, which ended with Abby being reunited with her son, one of the main narratives of the series. perpetual fuckup and tough guy Tom hid himself on the plane to the Sanctuary, presumably to infect the rich elite. It was supposed to be a cliffhanger but the series wasn’t renewed, and stands well enough on its own. Whether humanity survives or not this band might.

The series wasn’t great but it had decent moments. An interesting but unsourced tidbit from wikipedia:

In 2013, when the show was added to the Netflix platform, it was the highest watched program and consequently, Netflix were in contact with the BBC for discussions on continuing the program. Nothing since has been heard of this rumour.

Now the virus that killed 99.9% of the population may be mutating to finish off the rest and spread through birds….

Well the peaceful and careful planning solutions didn’t work for our gang, which are all prisoners of coal miners. Except for Tom, who was already a prisoner and used his plan to escape. He’s just takent he big rig and I hope they’re mayhem about.

Hmmm so Tom killed Dexter for Samantha and is now locked up again, And now they’ve got Greg too. Things are quickly spiraling out of control.

Ah, the post-apocalyptic courtroom trial. Another staple of the genre despite the “kill all the lawyers attitudes”

It is Abby’s time to shine thought, after still being traumatized from her ordeal she jumps in and plays Tom’s solicitor with increasing confidence.
