and they just killed a new “gov’t” official this should go well

Episode 6 of Survivors goes from bad to worse in seconds as the remnants of the government led by Samantha (played with just a hint of uncertainty by Nikki Amuka-Bird) aligns themselves with Dexter (Anthony Flanagan), their tormentor from Episode 2, which is of course a bad idea for all those around, least of all b/c he looks like a skinny cousin of David Morrisey

Episode 5 of survivors goes through all the post apoc motions: 

an architect-turned-priest-who-can’t-hear-god-anymore-and-is-going-mad

The doctor who hid the fact that she’s a doctor b/c she can’t do it anymore has to deliver a breech baby

The convict-that-no-one-knows-he’s-a-convict is extra crass this week finding out that the girl he likes was in relationship with another girl.

“oh m boyfriend wants me to have sex with as many men as possible so I can get pregant” (visiting group to our main group)

Oh still watching survivors but I don’t have much to say about ep 4, it’s there and it exists. 

Survivors is a slow burn series but is very good. small stories at a time. The one where they get cornered in a barn by a man who hasn’t caught the infection and keeps his children from danger, to the detriment of their mental health only to have one of them help them. THe he shuts her our because while they are immune they could still be carriers and may have infected her and now he’s got to protect his remaining child. anyhoo the scene is played for maximum emotion and it’s done very well.
