Oh, gee, whaddayaknow they’re after you adn your cover’s blown because you were stupid enough to make a phone call! They were watching you AND listening for the call at your girlfriend’s house!
(Yes there was a scene where the trainer said he needed a couple more weeks with him but this is Espionage 101!)
