World on a Wire was interesting. At times noir, certainly minimalist. The Thirteenth Floor owes a lot to this movie (as do dark city and the matrix to a certain extent). again it’s about the nature of existence, what’s real, programming vs free will and all that. glad I watched it.
I was thinking World on Wire owes a lot of its tone to Alphaville when lo and behold Eddie Constantine (Lemmy Caution himself) shows up

getting followed by a crane full of bricks should probably have tipped you off that this was going to end badly
She reminds me a bit of Michelle Fairley, the actress that played Catelyn Stark.
