dune is a really good Movey because it starts with a direct address that's like "listen up these are FOUR PLANETS you need to keep straight and also spice is Very Important" and for the next HOUR no characters are really Introduced (except patrick stewart the one who needs it not at all) and you're just alone with kyle maclachlan using worldbuildy SF words that do not need to be explained to people in-universe so they are never explained to we the viewer and this whisper v/o because everyone is too busy being fucking Stoic to act and the sets are so beautiful it's easy to tune out this nonsense and look at the most beautiful hallway ever and then that screeches to a HALT and max von sydow explains how these special jumpsuits filter your piss and then it's another full hour of the most aggressively impenetrable dialogue ever and paul gets like 5 new names
