@laissezferre YES the way he's so devastated by raych's death that he glitches the entire ship...this one moment of vulnerability before he slips back into a more calculated (literally) persona, but i still get the feeling that half the reason he's being such an asshole to gaal is that he blames her for raych's death. and she has a MILLION reasons to be angry with him, but one of them is that SHE blames HIM for raych's death. which is in theory so damn sad, and i was so ready to be emotionally invested in this messy little math family, why didn't we get to see more of these relationships earlier in the show! raych was barely a character!!
