Adira deserves the same amount of respect as every other character on Memory Alpha, which means if the admins choose to refer to other characters as “Female Vulcan” or “Male Human” then Adira deserves to have “Non-binary Human” stated upfront, not in some blurb located at the bottom of their wiki page that could end up causing confusion about their identity to people not familiar with the character.

For anybody who doesn’t know what’s going on
MA mods Archduk3 & Gvsualan are being shitty abt Adira Gender
Talk Pages: Here
Someone has contacted Fandom to alert them of this behavior
This was Adira gender section on their page prior to edit

lacefuneral

also the fact that the mods are ignoring their canonical pronouns and misgendering them? and talking about their genitals even though the character is a minor? immensely fucked up!

lacefuneral

memory alpha has officially shit their pants and has now deleted gender from all character sidebars, rather than acknowledge that adira is nonbinary

some hero went in and, as of me typing this, gave adira their gender back

but these clowns went ahead and vandalized the entire wiki because nonbinary people scare them so much. go look up spock, his gender isn't listed anymore.

i hate this. i hate cis people.

a non-selective plan for the resurgence of fic commissions

majorenglishesquire

Too many children in the comments like ‘I think authors should be able to share ko-fi links :) it’s just nice’ and ‘OP is just a cop.’ Homie, OP is trying to keep AO3 fully functional without interruption. I will report your ass, too, because I value fic artists and our freedom of expression and my audience and our shared history far more than I value the few bux you wanna make on a commission.

It is not hard to link to your Tumblr or Twitter with a vague message like, “If you’re looking for my other works or other ways of supporting me, go here: link.” I have had people buy me coffees after enjoying my fic and asking where to support me. I threw up a link to my Tumblr and people cared enough to follow it. They were fully understanding when I explained in the comments that they could not commission me and I could not link them directly to any donation platform, but they could go to xyz link to read more. And they did! Nobody has to put AO3 directly on the firing line.

Go ahead and commission independently. Just do it anywhere else except on AO3. And then don’t come crying to the community when you, personally, get a C&D from a massive corporation.

AO3 is our bullet shield. Tumblr will pull your shit down. Wattpad won’t fucking protect you. LJ and FF.net already sold our asses for one (1) corn chip. AO3 is trying to protect us, you goddamn lemmings.

If you cannot follow the rules that protect fanspaces, you do not belong in our fanspaces.

The only people who misunderstand this are doing so intentionally and maliciously. Do yourself a favor and block the infants who think this isn’t a big deal.

reblog to spread awareness that we’re back on the citrus scale

kiruharukorohara

Let’s get back to basics. Kinda funny we rename things like we’re outlaws that try to cover up there crimes!

mackblesa

why have i never known about orange

caramelcheese

Orange was originally like…a PG-13 warning. You would tag orange for fics that stopped at making out.
What you’re thinking of is “Grapefruit”.

The scale goes as such:
Orange (PG-13, basically making out like I said) - Lime (Non-explicit sexual actions, think an M rated fic instead of NC-17) - Lemon (explicit, graphic sex, the NC-17 fics) - Grapefruit (hardcore/weird stuff)

Reblogging for the citrus correction of orange and grapefruit

It is so weird seeing people rediscover the fandom of my youth. I haven’t used the citrus scale since I last lied about being 18.

first they attack Jake Lloyd, a child that did everything he was instructed to do in a moment in his life that should have been exhilarating for a kid, leading him to hit a downward spiral

then they attack Hayden Christensen for his role of Anakin Skywalker so much so that he quits acting completely

next is George Lucas for “ruining their childhoods” enough so that he sells his entire goddamn franchise and goes into the shadows

after is John Boyega, harassing him relentlessly and calling him slurs solely for him being a black lead character in a Star Wars film

then it’s Daisy Ridley for being a lead woman in a Star Wars film, calling her a Mary Sue and attacking her for posting pictures with John Boyega, her best friend, enough to make her leave social media

finally it’s Kelly Marie Tran, a lead Asian woman lead in a Star Wars film; slurs and other harrasments left as comments on her social media so much so that she deletes it all

so yeah, congrats Star Wars fans. you are officially the worst fanbase ever and I hope you’re fucking proud

There’s nothing worse than someone who claims to love a piece of pop culture, but instead treats that love like a competitive sport. They have little regard for social decency and value their pride over integrity. Once they get away with garnering enough public attention through arrogant and possessive behavior toward a piece of media, their ilk begins to become associated with that piece of media and in turn they become representative of everyone else who enjoys it. Outsiders then turn on fan communities of this media due to the aggressive entitlement of this toxic vocal minority and the fandom begins to rot from the inside. The truth of the matter is that, for the most part, these “toxic fandoms” are merely the same outnumbered group of awful hedonistic people that migrate from fandom to fandom, leaving social chaos in their wake. This is why I cringe when people say, “Oh, I can’t watch [X] anymore because the fandom is cancer and they’ve ruined it for me.” This talk does nothing but perpetuate the cycle of validation for this awful group. A piece of media cannot be ruined by an ostracized viewer base, and you are not cancerous for enjoying it. It’s not about what you love, it’s how you love it.
