Like, there's never been a context in Farscape of "oh that makes more sense" no, the context is at best "I guess I know how come that happened but I'm not any less lost than I was not knowing." Farscape is weaving in and out of traffic wearing a gimp mask and a Hawaiian shirt and we're more or less just hanging on for the ride.

trying to describe farscape gets insane so fast. like okay there's the warrior trying to avenge his wife's death but he just wants to be a farmer. sure. there's the Tough Chick jaded ex-stormtrooper who turns out to be empathetic and gentle and not cynical. cool. there's the tiny deposed emperor. the all-american football player test pilot big nerd weirdo loser literal rocket scientist with mental illness. the monochromatic slut. the wise peaceful zen priestess former anarchist who is an emotionally unstable morally grey idiot, and has an ambiguous relationship with an erratic insane man in a phantom of the opera mask with a magic face who "helps people die". their spaceship is piloted by an octopus that's fused to her. they're coparenting the ship's son with their nemesis. the bad guy lizard man wears a gimp suit and has glow sticks in his brain. they all have sexual tension.
It's vital to understand the all American jock is basically the biggest science nerd on the entire ship. He is from the least technologically advanced culture in the universe, and he is the only person on the ship who can do math.
